Description
POSITION FUNCTION
The Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for supporting the efficient and accurate conduct of clinical trials under the direction of Research Management. The Pharmacy Coordinator will support the clinical team and demonstrate exemplary patient care. The Pharmacy Coordinator will maintain accurate and detailed records of the Investigational Product while supporting blinded and unblinded clinical studies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist or physician
Maintain and inspect expiration dates for all IP, medications and supplies needed for pharmacy use
Maintain drug accountability logs for all medications including oral, injectable medication, etc.
Ensure drug accountability logs are accurate and up-to-date by the end of the business day
Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all drugs as outlined and required by protocol
Maintain temperature logs for ambient rooms, refrigerators, and freezers
Establish and maintain patient drug administration records for Sponsors, CROs, Regulatory Agencies, or other industry representatives
Follow protocol-established procedures for each clinical trial such as labeling vials and/or bottles with appropriate subject information
Renew DEA license and Pharmacy license as required
Establish good working relationships with Sponsors, CROs, and other industry representatives
Ensure availability of documents, records, used and unused drug for all monitoring visits whether blinded or unblinded
Ensure accurate completion of Case Report Forms (CRFs) and Electronic Data Capture for clinical trials specific sites
Follow procedures outlined by the Sponsor, CRO or other industry representative for drug destruction for the close-out of the clinical trial
Train employees and model continuous improvement practices
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum:
Canada: College/University degree
US: HS/GED
1-year hospital or pharmacy experience
Preferred:
Canada/US: Certification or Technical Diploma in Pharmacy
2 or more years of hospital or pharmacy experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands include but not limited to prolonged sitting, light lifting, standing, reaching, walking, and bending.
Frequently required to complete work on the computer in a seated position
May be required to lift light boxes (10 - 20lbs)
WORKING CONDITIONS
Modern medical office environment.
Required to follow all healthcare industry OHSA and OSHA guidelines
Required to perform duties in relation to PHIPA, HIPAA, PIDEDA
Some positions may require overnight/weekend hours
