We are currently seeking a Skid Foreman to join our team. The Skid Forman will play a key role in our manufacturing process, responsible for assembling our centrifuge product lines and ensuring they meet quality standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical aptitude, a proven track record of precision assembly work, and the ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform intricate assembly tasks to build our machines according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Assemble skid-mounted systems based on engineering drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
- Accurately install and secure various components, including pumps, motors, valves, piping, instrumentation, and electrical components onto skid frames.
- Precisely install and secure various components, parts, and subassemblies using hand and power tools.
- Ensure precise alignment, connection, and integration of all skid components to achieve optimal functionality.
- Conduct thorough quality checks at each assembly stage to ensure products meet or exceed established quality standards.
- Identify and resolve assembly issues, such as misalignments, fitment problems, and component defects.
- Maintain detailed records of assembly activities, including parts used, assembly times, and any discrepancies encountered.
- Collaborate effectively with other assembly technicians, engineers, and supervisors to meet production goals and address technical challenges.
- Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring instruments to complete assembly tasks.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize assembly procedures and enhance productivity.
- Provide training and guidance to junior assembly technicians and new team members as required.
- Measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit systems following electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Install plumbing systems and fixtures by cutting, threading, and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures.
- Education: High School Diploma required; Some college coursework preferred.
- Knowledge of National Electric Codes is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and safety standards in manufacturing.
- Experience with process improvement initiatives and learn manufacturing techniques.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Machine Assembly, Mechanical Assembly, or a related field. Prior experience in leading an assembly team or serving in a supervisory role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve assembly issues.
- Computer proficiency, with the ability to utilize MS Office software (Word, Excel) and MS Outlook as needed.
- Ability to lift heavy components and work in a physically demanding environment.
