The Research Analyst will support a partnership of organizations whose goal is to conduct  research, construct a survey and analyze data to drive effective outcomes and recommendations.  The Research Analyst will conduct research, analyze results and present research in addition to gathering existing research and data. Interact with surveyees, draft documentation and analysis through data learning, produce data discoveries, and deliver statuses; all of which will drive to a common goal and vision. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage research projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  • Identify research methodologies, data collection techniques and analysis methods that will inform the team to ask deeper questions that strengthen the project
  • Determine areas of research to increase knowledge in a particular field and present research results to leadership
  • Assist in the design, curation, architecture, securing, formatting and analysis of data
  • Lead data gathering from various sources, including institutional data and surveys
  • Utilize a strong working knowledge in gathering, resourcing and analysis of data
  • Ability to present complex information in an accessible and organized manner
  • Plan and lead executive level and collaborator meetings and work sessions
  • Interpret data, produce reports discussing research findings and provide recommendations 
  • Collaborate with higher education institutions and community organizations
  • Travel to, attend and conduct research and surveying events in three county region
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills (bilingual) in English and Spanish, written and verbal.
  • Legal to work in US without sponsorship
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance and own transportation (not public) as local travel (county regional) is required.  

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's degree or graduate work in Research, Mathematics, Data Science, Business, Statistics, or a related field. 
  • One or more years of relevant research experience 
  • Proven knowledge of data collection methods and working in data, analytics, visualization and informational storytelling
  • Proficiency or working knowledge in data analytics tools and statistical applications
  • Ability to present complex data clearly and effectively to varying audiences
  • Knowledge of project management 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus.
  • Comfortable working with participants in the field 
  • Passion for educational equity and empowerment
  • Commitment to social justice objectives

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in non-profit organizations or community-based programs


Physical Demands:

While performing duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and operate machinery. The employee will need to stand, walk, climb stairs, push or carry items weighing approximately 25 pounds. On rare occasions, the employee will need to reach above the shoulders and bend at the waist, or work while bent at the waist, kneel, stoop, crouch or squat and lift times.  The employee will drive to and attend events in various locations throughout Snohomish, King and Pierce counties.  


Working Conditions: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  While driving to or performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.
