Hours: Varies / On Call (Friday - Sunday 12 hours; and as needed M-F)
FLSA Status: Contractor
Compensation: $25.75 / Hour

POSITION DESCRIPTION
Housing and supportive services are a key piece of Centro's vision for an equitable community where everyone is able to belong and thrive, and its mission to serve the needs of our diverse community by promoting personal growth and empowerment. The participants served in Centro’s housing programs are experiencing extremely low incomes, most experience one or more disabling conditions, and all are experiencing or at imminent risk of experiencing long-term or frequent episodes of literal homelessness. The On-Call Property Manager ensures that Centro’s Casa Amparo housing site is functional, clean and safe, so that they reflect the dignity and respect we show for our participants, and so participants can feel comfortable and secure.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as caretaker for operations in maintaining the 24-7 coverage to ensure safety and security for all.
- Monitor behaviors and environment to ensure safety. Recognize potentially dangerous activity and inform daytime staff.
- Respond to participant requests, complaints, and concerns promptly, such as replacement keys or needed supplies. Ensure guests have left after visiting hours.
- Engage in conversations with clients to provide a welcoming environment and be a readily available onsite resource to resolve client needs.
- Monitor site activities during regular business hours, evenings and weekends. Walk site grounds approximately hourly to check that everything is functional, identify any issues, and communicate with clients. Report any problem activities to Centro staff or police, as appropriate.
- Maintain good relationships with participants through frequent interaction and effective follow-through.
- Enforce the Occupancy Agreement and provide documentation of disputes or issues.
- By 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday, take out trash from the kitchen, outside trashes, ensure the floors are clean and mop if needed.
- Clean the front part of the laundry machines on Saturday and Sunday.
- Check the refrigerator to clean out food as needed.
- Check visitors in and out of Casa Amparo, taking copies of their IDs.
- Serve as representative for court proceedings including evictions.
- Supervise any on-site emergencies that may arise.
- Make recommendations for physical repairs, replacements and/or improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to manage high stress situations, interact with clients experiencing a variety of needs.
- GED or High School diploma and 3 years of experience in property management, real estate, or a related field, or Associate in business administration, real estate, finance, marketing, public administration, or CPM and 1 year of experience in property management, real estate, or a related field
- Organized and self-motivated to identify and respond to emerging needs
- Ability to monitor behaviors and environment to ensure safety. Experience recognizing potentially dangerous activity.
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Building maintenance experience
- Basic computer skills
- Advanced organizational skills
Requirements

- Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is 100% in Centro housing locations, with occasional trips to purchase supplies. Regular interactions with clients are a central part of the job and require being able to engage in respectful and responsive interactions, while also needing to complete housing management job duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will:
- Engage in regular communication in person as well as through electronic means
- Routinely use computer laptops, tablets, desk phones, photocopiers and monitors, including digital screens
- Spend significant time standing, moving inventory, and walking grounds.
- Occasionally move up to 50 pounds
