DEPARTMENT: Administration, Central New York Regional Transportation Authority
SALARY RANGE: Grade 11 - $119,113 to 133,136
Note: If successful, AVP position could transition into the VP position after 12 months. Starting salary is determined by evaluation of experience and qualifications for the position and will be set at some point between the minimum and maximum of the pay scale.
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing the Authority’s route system and marketing and communications functions. Position is exempt.
MAJOR DUTIES:
1. Oversees the planning, design and execution of the Authority’s fixed route and on-demand system
2. Assists in the development of customer products that may enhance the expansion of service or access contracts, ie; fare media, farebox technology, app development, etc.
3. Assures compliance of federal rules and regulations overseeing charter bus, school bus, and Title VI regulations.
4. Develops, negotiates, and administers service or access contracts with sponsoring clients; the further expansion of such services; and the pursuit of new contract subsidy opportunities.
5. Identifies and investigates new business opportunities and revenue-generating ideas.
6. Manages the placement of transit facilities, including shelters and other customer amenities within compliance of Authority’s Title VI program.
7. Oversees marketing, communications, and public outreach to ensure it enhances the Authority’s community standing, image and functional abilities.
8. Establishes and maintains professional contacts and community relationships to facilitate authority operations; makes presentations to various civic, professional, and media groups.
9. Coordinates and directs the services of transit advertising agency and public relations agencies.
10. Supervises and evaluates the work of assigned personnel.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience: The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field from and accredited college or university. Position also requires ten (10) years of experience in general marketing and planning as well as six (6) years of experience in general management.

12. Skill in analyzing and interpreting data.
13. Skill in oral and written communication.
