Description

The Supply Chain Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of the company’s purchasing activities. The role involves developing and implementing purchasing strategies, monitoring supplier performance, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, and providing financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing improvements in financial processes to meet the Company's continuous improvement initiatives and leading the forecasting and budgeting processes. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have strong problem solving, analytic, accounting, and interpersonal skills. The Supply Chain Controller will also need to be able to manage several projects simultaneously with the ability to be detail oriented and hands-on.


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Financial Oversight:

• Working with Supply Chain team to monitor and analyze purchasing expenditures to ensure alignment with budgetary goals. 

• Develop financial models to forecast purchasing costs and savings.

• Provide financial analysis and insights to support purchasing decisions.

Purchasing Strategy:

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings and efficiency.

• Collaborate with senior management to align purchasing strategies with overall business objectives.

Supplier Management:

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.

• Support in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible deals.

• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure consistent supply.

Cost Control:

• Track and analyze purchasing expenditures to identify cost-saving opportunities.

• Implement cost control measures and monitor their effectiveness.

• Report on purchasing performance and savings to senior management.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.

• Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain and procurement processes.

Process Improvement:

• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance purchasing efficiency and accuracy.

• Utilize data and analytics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and present financial reports related to purchasing activities, including variance analysis and cost savings.

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting of financial performance to senior management.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

• Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.

Global Collaboration:

• Collaborate effectively with global teams and suppliers across different time zones and cultures.

• Coordinate and communicate with international stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful implementation of strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

• 10 years proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or financial analysis within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Able to adjust to changing priorities - ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

• A successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to analyze a situation quickly and accurately and arrive at an effective fact-based decision or solution.

• Demonstrated ability to manage people down, across and upwards throughout the organization.

• Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development—strong work ethic. 

• Proficiency in the use of technology including thorough understanding of ERP systems, Data analytics tools, Hyperion HFM and Microsoft Excel.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Working Environment:

Only those present in a normal office setting, no known significant hazards. While working with a wide range of people, they may encounter abusive, aggressive, or unpredictable behavior on a limited basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional trips to manufacturing areas will be required, and occasional travel for company business is also required.
