Job Description
Position Summary :
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for control of incoming materials and measuring and test equipment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
- Approve incoming materials by confirming compliance to specifications, conducting visual examination, and / or measuring characteristics
- Reject and quarantine unacceptable materials
- Perform detailed measurements and examinations using precision tools and equipment, such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements to verify product conformance
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including non-conformances and corrective actions
- Initiate, track, and complete nonconformance reports
- Coordinate operation of the calibration management system
Maintain the index of calibrated instruments

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require a preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required."
