- Radiation Therapist
- 75 mile radius rule
- Unit: Radiation Oncology
- Days
- Variable hours to meet patient needs. Mostly 0800-1600
- Must be NY licensed
- Must be able to treat patients using Varian 2300ix and Varian EDGE Truebeam.
- Knowledge of Siemens CT large bore for simulation.
- Must be able to use Electronic Medical Records ARIA and be familiar with EPIC.
- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients according to the treatment plan developed by the Radiation Oncologist.
- Operate radiation equipment such as linear accelerators, and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
- Accurately position patients and adjust equipment to deliver precise doses of radiation.
- Monitor patients during treatment for any adverse reactions and provide appropriate care.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, including dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions.
- Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
- Proficiency in operating radiation therapy equipment.
- Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
