Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies, including oxygen and aerosol therapy.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, and sleep studies.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatments, and disease management.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Certification or licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT).
- Valid state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications may be required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and critical care patients.
- Knowledge of respiratory care protocols and guidelines.
