Certification Details BLS State Licensure Job Details Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retroperitoneal, small parts and vascular. May perform cardiac procedures as required by entity. Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to ALARA. Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timely manner. Prepares patient for exam and provides information and instruction to patient and / or family regarding the procedure. Assists the patient during exam and positions the patient. Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports / document unusual occurrences. Facilitates smooth patient flow, scheduling and optimal use of equipment / resources. Communicates in writing and verbally with all physicians, imaging personnel, students and hospital staff. Assists with patient transport as needed. Performs IV starts and contrast administration as required. Maintains technical operation of equipment and notifies service when necessary. Maintains clean work area for employees and patients. Job Requirements One year of ultrasound experience strongly preferred. Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and / or facility policy. Maintains compliance with all State, Federal, accreditation and hospital regulations and standards. Additional Details Floating may be required to any Centura location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location or Centura-identified float zone. Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements in accordance with Centura policy.
