Job Description
Job Title : Registered Nurse
Job Specialty : Cath Lab Specialist
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : 10-hour day shift, 4 days a week (7 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours : 40 per week
Experience : At least 1 year of experience in Cath Lab, EP Study, and Structural Procedures preferred
License : State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC
Certifications : American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required; Certified Critical-Care RN (CCRN) preferred
Must-Have : Experience using Impella, Balloon Pump, Shockwave, CSI, and Laser devices; experience with administering emergency drugs (e.g., Atropine, Epinephrine, Levophed, Dopamine, etc.) and moderate sedation
Job Description :
- Assess patient physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records, and clinical data.
- Evaluate patient response and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, incision / wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
- Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
- Provide patient and family education through assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability.
- Deliver relationship-based care with respect for cultural differences and diversity.
- Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel according to nursing board and hospital policy.
- Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively for high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical and professional nursing practices.
- Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with patient and unit needs.
- Use standards of care, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
- Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams to achieve quality patient care.
- Precept and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.
- Pursue learning opportunities and continuing education for skill and competence maintenance.
- Maintain professional records as evidence of competency and lifelong learning.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.
- Use healthcare research findings to expand clinical knowledge and enhance role performance.
- Complete 7-10 days of on-call duties, including one weekend a month.
- Be prepared for floating requirements that may involve working at any location within sixty miles or a designated float zone, including duties outside original job requirements in accordance with policy.
