Job Description
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Specialty : Post Anesthesia Recovery (PACU)
Job Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Nights - 6pm / 6am; On-call required
Guaranteed Hours : 36.00 hours per week
Experience : One year of experience preferred in nursing skills and knowledge base specific to the specialty
License : State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC
Certifications :
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) / or ENPC Certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
Must-Have : Related work experience and required certifications
Job Description :
Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical records and clinical data.Evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.Demonstrate competency in therapeutic / diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision / wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.Provide patient and family education by assessing learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluate the effectiveness of the teaching.Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs.Provide relationship-based care, striving to understand what is most important to each individual and actively engaging them in all aspects of care, delivered with respect for cultural differences and diversity.Delegate to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with patient and unit needs.Use standards of care, hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.Precept and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed, seeking learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain skills and competence in clinical practice or role performance.Maintain professional records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning.Evaluate personal integrity and nursing practice in relation to professional standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations, taking action to achieve goals identified during evaluations.Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.Use current healthcare research findings and other evidence to enhance clinical knowledge, role performance, and understanding of professional issues.Client Details
