Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Flat Rate Technician who can diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle issues, with expertise in specific repair areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all repairs as outlined in the work order, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in line with dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs.
- Work with the parts department to source required components for repairs.
- Save and label parts when required for warranty purposes or if requested by the customer.
- Inspect vehicles to identify any additional safety concerns or service needs.
- Inform the service advisor promptly if additional work is necessary, if certain repairs are unnecessary, or if repairs cannot be completed within the expected timeframe.
- Record all work completed and any recommended services on the repair order.
- Conduct road tests when necessary or coordinate with a test technician for evaluation.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training and technical events to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Stay updated on manufacturer technical bulletins and repair guidelines.
- Oversee the work of apprentice technicians as assigned.
- Report any issues with equipment or machinery to the supervisor.
- Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean and notify service advisors of any damage or changes in the vehicle's condition.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than 9 points to maintain insurance eligibility and ability to drive on company property.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals; return them in good condition.
- Understand and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including safety and hazardous waste disposal guidelines.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and report any safety concerns immediately to management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
