Qualifications:
The candidate for the construction superintendent position will possess the following work experience and qualifications:
- 10 years in the commercial construction industry with a minimum of 5 years in the position of construction superintendent.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methodologies.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Keen ability to read and comprehend construction drawings & specifications.
- Desire to lead and the ability to work with diverse groups.
- Possess knowledge and skill in cast in place concrete, rough & finish carpentry, door hardware, drywall, finishing, and painting.
- Familiarity with site development, steel and wood frame structures, building interiors and exterior installations, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical scopes of work.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
- Thorough understanding of construction contracts and professional interactions with subcontractor personnel, architects, and owners.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The candidate for the construction superintendent position will expect the following roles and responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead all subcontractors in daily management of project site safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Keep project documentation current including daily field reports, progress photos, and project logs.
- Hold regular project meetings.
- Work with project manager to develop project schedule.
- Maintain project schedule ensuring project activities are completed, per project requirements and within budget.
- Read, interpret, and communicate scopes of work from project drawings, specification, and addenda.
