Forensic Health Services, a Centurion company, is proud to be the provider of forensic and mental health services to the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health Court Clinic Programs.  We are currently seeking a full-time Forensic Court Clinic Psychologist interested in working in the dynamic and fast paced forensic environment offered by the Taunton District Court located in Taunton, Massachusetts. Ideally, this role is 40 hours/week, but could potentially consider part-time. Remote/hybrid options available, as well.

The Forensic Court Clinic Psychologist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of lawyers, social workers, judges, and other court and hospital staff to provide assessment, treatment, and determination of appropriate dispositions for individuals who are mentally ill or have substance use issues and are brought before the Courts on criminal and/or civil matters. Travel between courts throughout the workday is required.   

The Forensic Court Clinic Psychologist is also responsible for fulfilling the statutory obligations of the Department of Mental Health, including, but not limited to:   
- Evaluation of the need for Emergency Hospitalization 
- Competence to Stand Trial or Criminal Responsibility Screening Evaluations 
- Evaluation of the need for Hospitalization of Mentally Ill Prisoners 
- Determination of the Mental Condition of Witnesses 
- Evaluation of the need for Commitment of Substance Abusers 
- Aid in Sentencing Evaluations As part of the Court Clinic team, Forensic Psychologists provide consultation to the court and help to facilitate and coordinate statutory evaluations assigned to their colleagues. 

Additionally, Forensic Psychologists play a vital role in triaging cases and making referrals to community providers and services.

Qualifications

• Active licensed Psychologist by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe (e.g. having passed the EPPP, or holding a Psychology license in another state) required 
• Designated Forensic Professional (DFP) or ability to obtain
• Current/valid driver’s license and reliable transportation 
• Experience working with court-involved criminal defendants preferred 
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.
