Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. We are currently seeking a Full-time Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) to join our team at Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center (BCBIC) located in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Alcohol and Drug Trainee conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in substance use programs to determine substance use treatment needs. They conduct initial screening assessments for those entering the facility and refer patients for addiction medical, substance use counseling and re-entry services as needed. They are also responsible for following up with the patient to make sure they are receiving the desired resources. ADTs also help the team identify people missed on the intial screening through working with the medical team, custody staff and making rounds on the housing tiers. ADTs refer patients for SUD counseling and for coincident medical, mental health and re-entry services as needed.
Qualifications
- Alcohol and Drug Trainee (Certified by MDH)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Behavioral or Social Sciences (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related field) preferred but not required
- Comfort communicating with patients and communicating with healthcare providers
- Experience working in corrections / substance use program preferred
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / BLS
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
