MHM Solutions, a Centurion company, is proud to be the provider of healthcare staffing solutions to state agencies within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We are currently seeking a full-time Forensic Psychologist to join our team at Norristown State Hospital located in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
The psychologist will be responsible for evaluations of competency for individuals committed to the Norristown State Hospital for competency restoration related to criminal charges. The psychologist will conduct the evaluations, meet with the patients and treatment team and review patient’s record, prepare reports to the court according to best practice standards and testify in court as required.
Psychologist will provide evaluations in the NSH setting to determine competency to stand trial (CST) and if required in the court order, criminal responsibility. The evaluations will follow the competency format with inclusion of :
- Overview of purpose of the evaluation
- Identifying data, including data regarding competence to stand trial
- Present symptoms
- Use of McGarry Criteria to form conclusions regarding the patient’s ability to stand trial
- Interviews
- Mental status examination and observations
- Historical information relative to : physical health, medications, psychiatric history, education and employment, family history, legal history, drug and alcohol use
- Final Report with conclusions
