Summary of Position Mission
This position will provide support to the Supply Chain Manager in procuring production, packaging, services and supplies. Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services, and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required; close coordination with plant engineering and quality to assure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and track supplier quality and delivery metrics.
- Utilize competitive bidding process to select and manage suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
- Demonstrate excellent supplier negotiation skills.
- Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with suppliers; and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
- Organize and maintain online supplier folders to record all agreements, compliance documents, orders, and records for supply chain.
- Ensure the contractual document accurately reflects the terms and conditions of purchase, including payment terms, freight terms, incoterms, and other key commercial terms.
- Visit suppliers' facilities to qualify them as new sources and assist in the resolution of production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems.
- Ensure maintenance and accuracy of all BOM lead times and standard costs in the ERP system, implementing changes and tracking variances as required.
- Effectively use verbal and written communication to provide resolution and status updates to team members, internal customers and suppliers.
- Work with internal customers to identify and address unmet needs that align with procurement and business goals to deliver long-term value
- Analyze root causes of accounts payable exceptions and take steps to resolve and prevent.
- Assist in implementing new sourcing/inventory strategies
- Strong computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) system.
- Highly organized to manage multiple products lines.
- Manage the activities of the purchasing and inventory; and purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels.
- Problem solving including the investigation of root cause analysis, and implement corrective action.
- Monitor and communicate key industry developments and trends (shortages, price escalations, etc.).
- Manage and administer building/property keys and security camera access.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Support and adhere to all ISO standards applicable to the Company.
- Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment directed by the Company at all times.
- Demonstrate complete working knowledge of firearms safety.
- Maintain and keep workstation and department area clean.
- Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to Management.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward co-workers, other department and the Company.
- Maintain respect, courtesy and professionalism toward all co-workers and the Company.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and management.
- Actively participate and support the 5S process within the work area on a daily basis.
- Other duties will be assigned as required.

- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing requirements
- Strong track record of cost reductions, broad knowledge of principles and practices within a professional field preferably with industrial products and experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing machine shops and casting suppliers required.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Must possess strong motivational skills with the ability to interface effectively with all functions, internal and external, of the company
- Sound analytical skills and ability to take responsibility for multiple projects to achieve goals and meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Purchasing Software
