What are the responsibilities and job description for the HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST position at Century Arms?
The Human Resource Generalist will support the daily routine HR administrative needs of Century's Florida manufacturing location. This includes talent acquisition for all FL based positions, coordinating and processing: new hire documents, benefits, leaves of absence, records retention, and enforcing company policies and practices through their collaboration with department leaders throughout Century.
Responsibilities
- Respond timely and accurately to employee and/or leadership requests and questions.
- Plan, develop and implement complete life-cycle recruitment for all FL based positions.
- Supports the "One Century" mindset by working as a collaborative member of the HR department in the alignment and consistency of HR policies and procedures across all locations.
- Guide leaders in their creation and updates of job descriptions.
- Develop and execute recruitment strategy for job opportunities including: receipt and review of hiring requisition documents, developing job openings advertisement language, posting in the best mediums and/or locations to attract the attention of the right audience, reviewing incoming applicants data timely, hold phone screens to determine candidates potential fit, and present candidates to the respective hiring leader or their designee.
- Coordinate interview schedules and provide the hiring leader the necessary collateral (application/resume/agency review) of candidates timely.
- Assist hiring leaders in the creation of legally acceptable job related interview questions.
- Communicate job offers
- Initiate all required background and drug testing based on the candidate’s job offer acceptance.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with local high schools, employment agencies, background screening and drug screening vendors, and other recruitment resources.
- Collaborate with leaders regarding performance management activities and/or actions for hourly based employees.
- Collaborate with the Sr. HR Director and leaders throughout the organization on employee recognition activities, to include carrying out tasks that are best suited for HR to complete.
- Coordinate and timely process all new hire and benefit enrollment documents.
- Act as the internal Human Resource Information System’s (HRIS) resident expert which includes: sharing and teaching the benefits of employee and leader self-service tools, keeping up to date on changes to the system and communicating those within Century as necessary, and continuously learning the various tools and how best to utilize from a continuous improvement perspective.
- Participate in the development and continuous improvement of the New Hire Orientation .
- Assist Sr. HR Director with the development, execution, and adherence to all HR related processes.
- Recommend and correct any related payroll, benefits, or other HR processes as a result of internal or external audits.
- Responsible for all the required records retention activities within the HR department following Century’s current retention policies in place. This includes timely, accurate, and organized filing of all required documents
Qualifications & Knowledge Required

- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related subject highly preferred or equivalent work experience is required.
- Three Human Resources or equivalent employee relations experience required.
- SHRM certification preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated experience working in roles demanding strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple competing tasks and comfort working in a fast-paced learning environment.
- Demonstrated project coordination experience.
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Knowledge of Human Resource systems, internet software, payroll systems, and employment law.
