Description
Assist professional nursing staff by performing non-direct care duties for residents at facility; work under supervision of professional nurse; execute directives of supervisor that are within the scope of the position; provide for safety, comfort and well-being of resident.
The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established facility policy and procedures.
- Document meal intake in AHT
- Pass ice and water to residents – providing cups and straws as appropriate
- Pass nourishments/snacks
- Pick up water pitchers and take to dietary for cleaning as schedule
- Keep dining room neat
- Assist residents to specified seating area
- Label personal care items used in the dining room
- Assist in preparing residents for meals, such as placing aprons and offering washcloths at mealtimes
- Obtain clean supplies as needed
- Answer call lights promptly to find resident’s need – report to CNA or nurse as needed.
- Assist in clearing tables after each meal.
- Record residents choices for lunch, supper to be given to dietary.
- Assist residents on scheduled appointment as needed
- Do any duties requested that do not require a certification status
- Ensure resident privacy, respect, and dignity.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma, GED, or adult equivalent preferred
Licensure/Certification: Not required
Experience: Although long-term care experience is preferred, experience is not required.
