SUMMARY:
Performs front of house Mid City Grill operations to ensure top quality service to internal and external guests. Continually enhance and improve operational performance to increase revenue. Perform and oversee inventory and order replenishment as needed and maintain par inventory levels of F&B items for core menu items, food specials as needed and other items as directed. Helps ensure continual prompt and courteous service, answers questions from internal and external guests on all related F&B topics and consistently acts to provide a positive image to all. Ensures all duties are performed in compliance with health and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Within the realm of the responsibility of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, to include use of safety equipment, following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices and informing the department manager of any unsafe conditions, as directed.
- Performs front of house Mid City Grill operations to ensure consistent top quality food preparation and service to all guests.
- Immediately alerts the department manager of any concerns regarding the quality, selection and variety of all food and beverages.
- Oversees the preparation of all orders and tastes, smells, and observes food to ensure conformance with recipes and appearance standards.
- Meets and exceeds performance expectations by establishing and maintaining positive work morale and effective employee relations.
- Wears and maintains clean and proper uniforms.
- Follows policies, procedures, and actively seeks to be informed consistently and effectively of departmental changes.
- Maintains professional communication and contact with customers, vendors and industry professionals.
- Adheres to budgetary compliance as directed by the department manager.
- May also perform the monthly inventory reconciliation of all departmental product as needed, maintains awareness of potential product shortages/theft and advises department manager accordingly. Also responsible for food/product/supplies order replenishment as needed and maintain par inventory levels of F&B items for core menu items, food specials and VIP events as directed.
- Ensures compliance with established departmental/company policies and procedures.
- Coordinates Mid City Grill operations with other departments and acts to establish and maintain co-operative interdepartmental relations.
- Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
- Maintains a positive and professional image at all times. Represents the company in a professional manner while on duty and in the community.
- Consistently maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and ethical practices.
- Attendance: Regular and reliable attendance, reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must have demonstrated experience performing as a server or cook, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment. Demonstrated strong customer service skills. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma. Recent and related hospitality or F&B experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English and Spanish.
REASONING ABILITY:
Makes recommendations, beyond the scope of essential duties, which may positively or negatively impact the operations of other departments.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Food safety certifications as directed by the department manager.
MATHEMATICAL AND OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Demonstrated knowledge of various regulations, practices, policies and procedures related to food preparation and service and safety. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Essential duties may involve performing physical exertion: frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, kneeling, squatting, walking and crouching, pushing and standing for an entire work shift, with standard breaks, in order to perform duties. Essential duties may involve working in a small, confined area used to prepare food, with floors that may become slippery in the process of meal preparation. Essential duties require lifting up to 50 pounds to stack, store, or move supplies and equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Essential duties may involve working in an environment which contains loud noise and a frequently hot or cold work environment. Essential duties may also involve working outdoors in special events during hot or cold weather.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Equipment used in performance of duties includes: serving trays and food containers, hot plate, pots/pans, oven/pizza oven, grill, fryer, refrigerators/freezers, knives, spoons, forks, glasses, pitchers, and various cleaning supplies.
