What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Fitter position at Century Furniture?
Summary Job Description
This position is responsible for receiving case parts from machining & assembling to make outside frame.
Essential Duties
- Assembles all end panels, tops and bottoms to make the outside frame of the case
- Adjusts drawers to case as necessary by planning or cutting down bottom and/or sides of drawer to fit opening in case
- Places plastic drawer tilt in temporary location on back of drawer
- Adjusts or replaces drawer stop blocks as necessary
- Insures that drawer slides smoothly and easily in case
- Hangs doors on cases and adjusts doors together which includes planning or cutting down to fit doors to case
- Assembles striker plate for magnetic catch to door, places shims behind hinges as necessary
- Assembles lid supports to doors where required insuring that door opens and closes easily and properly
- Must follow all safety policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must have good reading skills
- Previous casegoods assembly experience a plus
