What are the responsibilities and job description for the Panel Flow Operator position at Century Furniture?
Position Summary
Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Panel Flow machine, using adhesives to join furniture pieces for further processing.
Position Details
- Sets up and operates machine, adjusting pressure and speed; inspecting glue joints closely to ensure there are no tracks in core
- Identifies and gathers stock for daily production; using forklift as needed
- Runs computerized cutting program to optimize all parts for best yield
- Cuts and joins particle board, MDF, plywood, and other materials as needed
- Maintains an inventory count on stock to ensure applicable inventory is available for production
- Pulls stock and prepare for the following day's production goals
- Observes plant safety rules
- Keeps work area clean and is quality conscious in performing duties
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous Panel Flow Operator experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to walk, stand, climb, stoop, twist, push, pull and bend over the course of 8 hours
- Must be able to lift cores of 30 pounds or more
