Sr. Cost Accountant / Cost Accounting Manager

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Sr. Cost Accountant / Cost Accounting Manager to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $67.00 to $77.00 per hour.

Job Responsibilities

• Review and analyze standard material, labor, subcontractor fees, and overhead costs to ensure accurate accounting.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile inventory balances to the general ledger and balance sheet.
• Analyze key financial metrics, including gross margin, cost of sales, inventory trends, turnover ratios, and production yield.
• Prepare audit schedules and footnote disclosures in accordance with GAAP requirements.
• Provide detailed cost, manufacturing, and inventory analysis to support business units and manufacturing teams.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Possess 6 years of professional cost accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the manufacturing process, including raw materials, production costs, and cost of sales.
• Exhibit experience working with large ERP systems, with preference given to candidates familiar with SAP.
• Have knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and related internal control requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to plan and conduct physical inventories and reconcile physical counts with system data.
• Validate vendor reconciliations performed by logistics teams and follow up as necessary to resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure timely completion of month-end processes, including production order settlements and review.
• Support updates to standard costs for new parts and assist with annual cost roll updates.
• Analyze production and purchasing variances by reviewing production order variances and purchase price variances (PPV).
