Century High School is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Cheer Coach. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for cheerleading and a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment for our athletes.
As a Cheer Coach, you will be responsible for leading and supervising cheerleading practices, developing routines, and preparing our team for competitions and performances. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor and role model for our athletes, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead cheerleading practices, ensuring a safe and productive training environment.
- Develop and teach cheerleading techniques and dance routines.
- Create innovative and engaging cheerleading routines tailored to the skill level and abilities of the team.
- Coordinate and oversee team participation in competitions, games, and other events, including choreography.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to athletes to help them improve their skills and performance.
- Foster a positive team culture based on respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administration, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all rules, regulations, and safety guidelines governing cheerleading activities.
- Supervise and support assistant coaches, volunteers, and other team personnel.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching cheerleading at the high school, collegiate, or competitive level preferred.
- Strong background in cheerleading techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for cheerleading activities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team's schedule.
- Current certification in CPR and first aid will be required
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all requirements for employment in the school district.
Salary : $6,858 - $9,259
