Position : Chief Operating Officer (COO) - CENTURY HOUSING
Century Housing Corporation is a mission-driven Community Development Financial
Institution (CDFI) supporting quality affordable home development throughout California.
With offices in Culver City, Long Beach, and San Francisco, Century provides innovative end-
to-end financing from predevelopment to permanent loans. In addition, Century has both
real estate development and service provider arms which together with financing seek to
address the affordable housing and service needs of a diverse income range of projects and
residents. Century and its three main enterprises are all 501 ©-3 entities.

and service delivery.

Job Description Summary
The Chief Operating Officer position will be based at Century’s corporate offices in Culver
City, CA.
Salary Range : $285-320k
Work Setting : Monday - Friday (in-person); Hybrid working model negotiable (in-office
for three days and remote for two days).
Summary of Position :
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) reports directly to the President & CEO and is tasked with
managing the internal operations of the organization. This role ensures that the organization
is effectively staffed, managed, and governed to fulfill Century's mission and values. The COO
oversees the Lending Division, Housing Division, Century Villages of Cabrillo affiliate, Human
Resources, IT Department, and overall office operations. Collaborates with the President &
CEO and the Senior Management Team to develop and implement externally communicated
goals and broader organizational goals.
Primary Responsibilities :
1. Develop and implement systems and processes to support sustainable growth and
improve operational efficiency.2. Oversee cross-departmental operations, ensuring clear communication and accountability
across the Lending and Housing Divisions and Century Villages at Cabrillo.
3. Work closely with the President & CEO to shape and execute the company’s business
strategy, focusing on achieving key operational milestones.
4. Manage day-to-day operations across various departments, ensuring seamless
coordination and optimal performance.
5. Ensure effective resource allocation, budget management, and financial oversight to meet
company goals and maximize profitability.
6. Collaborate with the CFO to develop and monitor the annual operating budget and long-
range financial forecasts, ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
7. Monitor financial performance against the budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.
8. Communicate budget-related issues to the President & CEO and strategize on resolutions.
9. Review and oversee the implementation of cross-departmental programs, policies, and
procedures for maximum efficiency.
10. Collaborate with the real estate development team on new affordable housing projects,
including site selection, financing, and permitting.
11. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to affordable housing, including
Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC).
12. Promote collaboration and communication across departments.
13. Provide coaching and mentoring to staff, conduct performance reviews, and develop
goals.
14. Oversee IT operations and manage IT consultants.
15. Oversee Human Resources and manage any consultants.
16. Monitor and evaluate property performance, identifying areas for improvement and
implementing necessary changes.
17. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to affordable
housing.
Qualifications :
- A Master's Degree in Business Administration or Public Administration is required; a
Bachelor's Degree in business, community development, or a related field, or
equivalent experience is also acceptable.
