JOB SUMMARY:
Century is looking for an experienced Controller to join our team. In this leadership role, you will be
responsible for managing all aspects of transactional processing, developing internal controls, and
conducting financial analyses. You will lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial
statements, manage audits across multiple entities, oversee accounts payable and vendor processes, all
while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties include:
- Responsible for all accounting operations and all transactional processes.
- Develop and maintain internal controls around transactional processing.
- Conduct financial analysis using data to support estimates and reasonableness where needed.
- Responsible for the bad debt (CECL) analysis and estimate.
- Manage tax return compliance working with outside tax preparation firm. Manage other
licensing, sales and use tax, payroll tax, etc as needed.
- Prepare and update accounting policies.
- Review and approve staff journal entries and reconciliations.
- Monthly reconciliation of inter-company accounts.
- Manage the preparation of the monthly close, consolidation, and monthly financial statements.
- Prepare annual financial statements and footnote disclosures.
- Manage the annual audit for multiple entities.
- Research new accounting pronouncements or new transactions to ensure compliance with
GAAP.
- Supervise and develop staff.
- Manage accounts payable and vendor processes.
- Prepare loan amortization schedules and interest accruals.
- Responsible for expense and benefit allocations between multiple companies.
KNOWLEDGE AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Complex transactions and ability to understand contracts and accounting implications.
- Data analysis and working with large data sets to create estimates.
- Experience in multi-company environment preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 7 years accounting department experience with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
- Preferred industry background includes financial service or industries with high volume of
transactional data. Will accept candidates with experience in industries with complex
transactions or analytical needs.
