ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Labor and Delivery RN to join our team for night shifts. In this role, you will provide comprehensive and compassionate care to laboring mothers and their newborns. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assuming the role of a resource person and providing orientation and training to new staff, residents, medical, and nursing students.
- Serving as a charge nurse by managing unit-specific operational activities.
- Delivering overall patient care according to the nursing care plan.
- Providing education and support to patients and their families.
- Timely notification of the supervisor and healthcare provider of any negative changes in patient status.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Active California RN license
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- BLS (AHA only)
- ACLS (AHA only)
- NRP certification
- POCTCAR certification required within 12 months of hire
- Preferred experience with Meditech
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Comprehensive knowledge of labor and delivery nursing practices
- Ability to effectively communicate and apply pharmacokinetics and safe medication administration
- Proficiency in evaluating patient response to pain interventions
