The Director, Global Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for leading the G&A Finance in supporting the leadership teams in Finance, HR, IT, Legal, and Facilities in assisting sound business decision making by providing insightful financial analysis and accurate forecasting explaining the business results.
This position is part of the Global Finance team and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA (on-site). At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Drive and lead an effective process for developing financial projections including monthly forecasts, the annual operating plan and long-range planning linked to strategic objectives for G&A business leaders
Identify, monitor, and articulate key operating metrics, business risks, and opportunities associated with the plan and outlooks to the leadership team, and actively participate in cross-functional projects designed to solve business problems and improve profitability.
Manage a team of 2-3 financial analysts as the team grows/expands.
Perform in-depth analysis of headcount and operating expenses for G&A functions and present during the monthly financial/forecast review meeting with Senior Management.
Evaluate results to plan, drive variance analysis and provide partnership to business leaders in Finance, HR, IT/Business Transformation, Legal, DBS, and Facilities to execute on plan; analyze historical, current, and projected financial data for use in planning, forecasting, and management decision making.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor's degree in finance or related fields with 14 years of experience OR Master's degree in field with 12 years experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 9 years experience
Strong financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end FP&A close activities, including preparation of journal entries, and forecast activities related to Headcount, capital, facilities and operating expenses.
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and adaptability with ambiguity in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
Advanced user in MS Excel and experience
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- OneStream and SAP preferred
The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $170,000 to $250,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
