The Mechanical Engineering Intern is responsible for investigating, developing, and implementing mechanical solutions for our PCR instrument. The incumbent will have opportunities to learn engineering tools like CAD design and thermal simulation / analysis.
This position is part of the Mechanical Engineering Systems R&D organization and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA (on-site). At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to :
- Define, design, test, develop, and validate new product(s).
- Collaborate with senior engineers and independently research / develop complicated engineering problems.
- Present technical data, including risks / opportunities to a multi-functional audience.
