Job Summary:

This position is directly responsible for direct sales activity in their assigned territories. Building direct relationships with the key contractors / owners / developers through face-to-face meetings, product presentations and being the product resource and expert. They will also work in coordination with our A&D team on many activities to ensure we provide a high level of service to all customers.


For Contractor Accounts - Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

  • Supports the end-to-end sales process to include following up and communicating with the contractor customer.
  • Has monthly schedule, planned in advance. Conducts daily sales calls - including servicing existing customers and cold-calling potential customers.
  • Follow up and expand business through tracking specifications and quotes on specified projects. This includes tracking when visiting contractors. Will be prepared and have information from SF to track while visiting accounts, to include all quotes that contractor has bid, in the territory and outside.
  • Works directly on behalf of A&D Consultants to pull through specifications. Take over the specification when it moves into the quote stage. Updates project information as it progresses through bid stage and till closed. Keeping A&D Consultant informed throughout the project life cycle.
  • Communicates any potential issues. Works with team to ensure spec is maintained.
  • Develops in-depth knowledge and expertise with regards to all products. (CTL, SS and HF), technical data and installation guidelines.
  • Works with ICS and A&D consultants to provide alternates, VE’s or import times that do not work with GC schedule.
  • Process sample requests as needed for contractor customers and ensure formal submittals are shipped; stock checks are conducted through company support when jobs are awarded.
  • Instinctively address all customer questions and concerns promptly with business savvy solution and resolution strategies.
  • Update libraries with current company marketing tools
  • PK’s scheduled to inform contractors about company programs.
  • knowledge about where to go for information outside company data. Example: factory representatives, factory websites, setting material companies, Schluter
  • Work directly with the other A&D consultants, CSR’s and ICS to resolve any product related issues with contractor customers. Examples include, but not limited to, availability, damages, shortages, lead times, production ETA’s, delays in shipping, product claims.

For Owner Developer Accounts - Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

  • Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with customers and salespeople via telephone, email and in person presentations.
  • Identify the top commercial based Owner / Developers in the geographic market.
  • Develop a strong relationship with key decision-makers to create and secure regional and national opportunities for company products.
  • Track commercial projects from specification through to completion.
  • Provide continuing customer education through product updates, sampling and presentations.
  • Utilize CRM to track potential and upcoming projects. Maintain accurate and comprehensive account list.
  • Maintain the highest level of product and technical knowledge.
  • Gives continuous feedback to executive leadership of current trends in product and styles
  • Be problem solving in the approach and create a demand for design by delivering the best offering to the designer
  • Collaborate with internal project managers and contractor account reps to ensure proper pricing for quotes for the end user
  • Perform monthly LPT tracking meetings to communicate and provide proper follow up for all projects specified to pull through

Travel:

Some travel required based on territory size.

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA in Design or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of direct sales to the A&D market with design background preferred
  • SAP Business One or similar preferred
  • Salesforce experience a plus
