COMPANY OVERVIEW
Cercano Management LLC (“Cercano”) is an SEC-registered investment manager focused on ultra-high net worth clients and the entities associated with those clients, such as family foundations and family offices. Cercano is based in Bellevue, WA, with offices in Wayzata, MN, Atlanta GA, and Singapore. Cercano invests globally for its clients, commonly operating as the family office Chief Investment Officer. The team has extensive experience in direct investing in all stages of venture capital, private equity, private credit, and public equities on a global basis.
Cercano offers services for all aspects of a client’s assets or family office. The team also has experience working with clients who have significant investments in non-financial assets on a global scale, such as fine art, professional sports teams, entertainment properties, intellectual property, commercial real estate, farmland, and personal residential estates.
POSITION MISSION
We are currently seeking an Intern, who will have an opportunity to support Cercano’s Operations, Treasury, and Reporting Departments across a variety of responsibilities and functions. The ideal candidate is someone with excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, self-starter, and inherent curiosity for investment management. The individual should be willing to dive into uncertain situations across a broad spectrum of middle, and back-office responsibilities with the ability to provide recommendations and solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Middle-Office
· Assist with the CRM system management to track and update investment records and attribution;
· Assist in providing quality control and maintain data oversight of investment records;
· Support operational due diligence of prospective and ongoing investments;
· Assist with the ongoing daily operations and oversight of external service providers to ensure timely and accurate ongoing management of investments;
· Assist with the quarterly valuation cycle;
· Assist with accounting and performance reporting questions;
· Other ad hoc projects, as necessary.
Treasury
· Develop cash management reports within PowerBI to assist in tracking public and private fund cash balances;
· Assist in maintaining robust data within our Treasury Management System (Hazeltree);
· Onboard and implement new features around tracking and automating debt and collateral functions within the Treasury Management System;
· Other ad hoc projects, as necessary.
Reporting
· Assist with quarterly client reporting process;
· Assist with reporting for portfolio management team;
· Other ad hoc projects, as necessary.

Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability
Required
· An understanding of basic accounting, risk management and private investment strategies
· Understanding of financial markets within all asset classes
· Technical ability and knowledge regarding report development and reporting metrics
· An understanding of investment performance metrics and fair value
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Solid analytical and creative problem-solving skills
· Ability to exhibit high integrity and maintain discretion and confidentiality
· Natural curiosity and strong initiative to learn

Computer skills
· MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI)
Education/experience/certifications
· Flexible to consider an in-process undergraduate or graduate degree with a strong understanding of finance, accounting and/or economics principles and having a detailed, curious, creative, and problem-solving mindset.
SALARY RANGE: $22 per hour
