Job Title: Power BI Analyst/Report Writer
Location: Hybrid remote and on-site in Charlotte, NC
Duration: 6-12 month contract with high possibility to extend

Essential Responsibilities:
- The Power BI Business Analyst works with stakeholders from all business units and related third parties to define and document business processes and software requirements for business and technology initiatives.
- Effectively participate in cross-functional business process re-engineering teams and continuous improvement efforts. Identify and understand the business problem and the impact of the proposed solution on the organization's operations.
- Evaluate internal and external customer business needs, contributing to strategic planning for Business Intelligence information reporting.
- Document project requirements, scope, objectives and benefit expectations.
- Deploy/implement solutions the through use of project management techniques.
- Liaise with business partners during preliminary installation and testing of new products and services to develop reporting requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation regarding all implemented solutions.
- Implement System Level changes as directed by project implementation guidelines and specifications.

Minimum Required Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI or Tableau Report creation.
- Report design proficiency including UI/UX.
- Object based programming: Python, SQL and/or R
- Experience with DevOps and standard data governance techniques.
- Experience with developing / building complex Semantic Models in Power BI.
- Knowledge of automation, ETL/ELT, virtual tables, DAX, Power Query M, and other key concepts.
- Cloud background and understanding basic cloud architecture concepts.
- Ability to work independently, analyze data, and take appropriate actions with minimal supervision.
- Superior analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Dependable, self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- High level of skill with Microsoft Office applications, primarily Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Familiarity with data governance, such as the concept of PII vs PI.
- Experience with documentation and technical writing.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills & Competencies:
- Experience with Databricks or Snowflake data intelligence platforms a major plus.
Experience with the Banking Industry (preferably working at an FI)
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Technology.
- Experience & knowledge of the financial services industry.
Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Recent experience in Quality Assurance and Project Management.
- Recent experience working with the following Fidelity Information Systems (FIS) solutions such as Insight.
