REPORTS TO : Home Service Director
RATE OF PAY : $21.50 / hour; biweekly pay structure
WORK SCHEDULE : Per diem (up to 30 scheduled hours per week). Primarily weekdays with occasional, pre-planned evening or weekend activities.
POSITION SUMMARY : This position shall be responsible for developing and implementing individualized exercise routines for people with developmental disabilities in the Family Support Personal Training Program and promoting and teaching the benefits of regular exercise.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop individualized exercise routines based on the needs of the person receiving services.
- Meet with individuals in their homes and at locations within the community to help customize exercise programs to best meet the needs of the person.
- Motivate and encourage individuals during exercise sessions to help them achieve their goals.
- Teach individuals the health benefits of regular exercise and the importance of performing exercise safely. Demonstrate exercises or maneuvers as appropriate.
- Monitor fitness progress and adjust exercise routines as needed.
- Collaborate regularly with supervisor to ensure the needs of people receiving services are being met and regularly discuss ideas and / or improvements to enhance the program.
- Perform other duties as requested or directed by the supervisor.
