Cerebral Palsy of Westchester is seeking a Residential Director for our OPWDD programs.
Summary: Responsible for overseeing and coordinating services in administrative, supervisory and programmatic areas to ensure that quality services are regularly provided to all residents and that the residential environment is maintained in a clean, safe and therapeutic manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and support the residential management staff in development and maintenance of structure, organization and routines within the residential environment.
- Maintain a leadership role within the agency, guiding residential staff in the performance of their duties.
- Work closely with the Human Resources Department to ensure that all staff positions are filled with qualified personnel.
- Supervise and evaluate all residential personnel as directed.
- Evaluate training needs across the program and ensure that all staff receive the required training.
- Counsel employees who do not meet standards of performance or who may require additional support and training.
- Monitor active treatment and implementation of goals, behavior plans, and protocols. Discuss any problems or issues in these areas with the AED.
- Attend meetings as needed.
- Monitor all purchases across the program. Provide direction and support to the management team to ensure that budgetary guidelines are met.
- Monitor staff schedules and approve all additional hours worked to ensure compliance with the residential program budget.
- Assist in planning and development of new residential sites.
- Assume responsibilities as a member/ chairs of various committees as directed.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Make on-site visits to each residence to monitor and evaluate consumer care and services, environmental safety and employee work performance. § Assess morale and assist the management team in keeping morale positive in the residences.
- Monitor Activity Schedules and assist the Resident Managers, as necessary, with planning and coordination of recreational and social events.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Familiarity and empathy towards the needs of the developmentally disabled.
- A thorough knowledge of the implementation of residential programs for the developmentally disabled and dually diagnosed consumers.
- Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary team process.
- Ability to design and implement systems which will ensure and monitor the quality of care.
- Ability to supervise employees through a demonstrated knowledge of human dynamics and human resource policies.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations as well as employment labor laws.
- Flexibility in regard to work assignments and scheduling.
- Ability to conduct interviews and investigations in a professional manner.
- Ability to complete other duties as directed.
- Off-hours on-call flexibility to carry a cell phone to address the needs of the residential program.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, e-mail and the ability to complete assigned paperwork.
- Maintain a valid New York State driver’s license and have own car.
- Ability to meet the environmental demands of the position such as recreational and leisure activities, hospitalizations/emergency room visits, medical professional appointments, religious services and other functions or events as directed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in a related field of study is preferred, however consideration will be given to a candidate who possesses a bachelor’s degree and has extensive experience working with the developmental disabled.
A minimum of five years of residential experience in a supervisory capacity preferably in the management of multiple locations.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
