Job Title: Project Accountant
The Project Accountant is a member of the Finance Team, S/he will efficiently perform accounting services through documenting the project financial transactions by compiling, analyzing, and verifying account information, preparing account entries, and delivering financial reporting services throughout the project's life cycle. The primary responsibilities include the following:
- Reconcile project from beginning to end
- Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting
- Monitor unit cost variables.
- Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data to upper management.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Supervise employees ensuring completion of operational requirements and maintain follow up on work results.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
- Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue.
- Maintain the billing folders for all projects, with all the appropriate documents, including expenses, consultant invoices, subcontract invoices, and monthly invoices, in accordance with standard procedures.
- Monitor cash receipts and follow up with PMs in case a payment delay (over 30 days).
- Review Work in Progress (WIP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) monthly.
- Review and book monthly field office expenses.
- Review project/field office accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide audit support for internal and external audits (including DCAA), work with auditors.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and .
- Solid understanding of accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations and review
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP) data manipulation required
- Job costing experience preferred
- Federal contracting experience a plus
- Highly motivated, energetic and professionally assertive
- Excellent communication, negotiating, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional time management, prioritization and organizational skills
- Strong personnel management skills
- Travel flexibility
- The ability to work in a multi-culture setting is a plus.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
