Job title: CLASS A WALKING FLOOR DRIVER
Position summary: Ceres Environmental Services is seeking a qualified and experienced Class A Driver to join our Transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials using Walking Floor trailers. This role requires a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) and a strong commitment to safety and compliance with transportation regulations. The Walking Floor Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and secure deliveries while upholding our commitment to environmental sustainability.
Responsibilities:
· Safely operate Walking Floor Trailers to transport materials to designated locations.
· Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure safe transportation.
· Inspect and maintain the condition of the Walking Floor Trailers, reporting any issues promptly.
· Load and unload materials in a secure and efficient manner, following proper procedures.
· Complete required paperwork, such as logbooks and delivery receipts, accurately and on time.
· Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and clients to ensure smooth transportation operations.
· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the Walking Floor Trailers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
· Follow established routes and schedules, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes.
· Adhere to environmental regulations and company guidelines for the proper disposal of materials.
Qualifications:
· Valid Class A commercial driver's license (REQUIRED) with endorsements (preferred)
· Minimum of 2 year of experience as a Class A Driver, with a focus on Walking Floor trailer operations (REQUIRED)
· Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols
· Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
· Demonstrated reliability and a commitment to meeting delivery deadlines
· Familiarity with DOT regulations and logbook requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to operate the vehicle; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
· Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· Work may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
