Are you passionate about food, sustainability, social justice, film, and community engagement? The Ceres Food Film Festival, based in New York City, is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with our annual film festival and our year-round events!
We are seeking volunteers to support preparations for our annual fall festival as well as help with ongoing festival events throughout the year. This is a great chance to get involved in a dynamic, creative community while developing valuable skills.
We have already begun planning for spring events and next October's annual festival!
We are looking to fill various roles :
Marketing & Outreach : Help spread the word about the festival! Assist with social media, email campaigns, and community outreach.
Partnership Building : Reach out to local organizations, schools, community groups, film collectives, and impact-focused food & agriculture non-profits to foster partnerships and collaborations.
Event Attendance & Support : Be a key part of our events by assisting with guest check-ins, managing info services, and ensuring a smooth festival experience for attendees.
Flyer Distribution : Share festival details by distributing flyers to local businesses, schools, and community spaces.
Film Selection Committee : Be part of the exciting process of curating our festival lineup by helping to search for food-themed films and documentaries. Assist in screening film submissions to ensure quality and alignment with the festival's mission.
What We're Looking For (depending on the role) :
- Passion for sustainability, food justice, food, film, and community engagement;
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude;
- Social media savvy or an interest in learning about digital marketing;
- Interest in films and a willingness to assist in the screening and selection process;
- Creative skills in design and / or a willingness to support event production;
- Enthusiasm for outreach and connecting with people;
- Ability to assist in the lead up to the October festival and throughout the year (flexible hours);
- Location : Our festival is based in New York City, but many roles can be performed remotely. Some tasks may require attending events in person.
