OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Supervise and monitor the behavior of students who are outside of class and at school sponsored activities both on and off campus. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Regularly patrols campus including restrooms or other problem areas during school hours providing general supervision of students outside of class. 2. Establishes rapport with faculty and students in order to gain their trust and confidence. 3. Assists teachers or administrators, when requested, in dealing with student discipline. 4. Intervenes in situations likely to result in disruption or injury. 5. Refers students to administration in cases of serious or repeated violations of school rules. 6. Checks students who are out of class during class time or who are entering or leaving campus. 7. Intercepts non students who come on campus during school hours and requires them to either report to the office for a visitor's permit or to depart. Notify administration office immediately if non student fails to comply. 8. Attends school activities both on and off campus, as directed and assists faculty with supervision. 9. Checks cars parked on campus for parking permits. 10. Supervises students in cafeteria. 11. Supervises detention and after school work program. 12. Assist with investigations. 13.Organizes and supervise recreational activities for students. 14. Does related work as required. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: People skills; effective communication; adolescent psychology and crowd control. Ability to: Learn appropriate codes; deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities; communicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work; understand, implement, and give oral and written directions in English. Experience: Two years working with school age students. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Supervision: Under general supervision, reports to Principal or designee. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
