Responsibilities
- Adhere to the work schedule
- Comply with all company policies and driving laws
- Ability to safely operate a box truck on specified routes to collect organic waste.
- Ability to use routing app and service each customer identified on the app or assigned by the operations manager.
- Perform routine vehicle inspection and preventative maintenance, such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, sometimes with no helpers.
- Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of waste at designated facilities.
- Courteous interaction with our customers and performing other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Minimum 2 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre-and post-trip inspections.
- Familiarity with GPS systems and service log apps.
- Understanding of all relevant truck driving laws and regulations
- Clean driving record
- Waste management experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Extensive physical activity. This position requires strenuous physical work, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 100 pounds.
- The work environment involves exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, which requires following basic safety precautions.
- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
- A typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.
