Summary
Boston-based worker-owned cooperative seeks a responsible Driver Assistant for its growing organic waste collection business. The ideal candidate has experience navigating, loading, and unloading heavy loads and prioritizes safety.
- A typical schedule for this position is 25 to 30 Hours, Monday through Friday, between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- Compensation: $21.00 per hour
ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Helping load and unload 64-gallon totes full of food waste onto the lift of a dump truck or box truck
- Adhere to the work schedule.
- Comply with all company policies and driving laws.
- Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading.
- Helping to wash 64 or 32-gallon totes.
- Courteous interaction with our customers.
- Performing other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Ability to use routing app and GPS
- A valid Drivers License is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual(Spanish) is preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- This position requires extensive physical activity, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 100 pounds.
- The work environment involves exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which requires following basic safety precautions.
- The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
