This position will be working out of GeoTest Services, an RMA Company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists to develop fundamental skills and effectively implement engineering strategies across diverse projects.
  • Plan and carry out subsurface investigations, soil and rock testing, and instrumentation activities.
  • Engage in various geotechnical analyses and designs, including slope stability, seismic evaluations, foundation design (shallow and deep), ground improvement techniques, excavation assessments, and shoring designs.
  • Assist in creating innovative, customized proposals and technical reports as part of a professional team.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors, to exchange project insights, objectives, and geotechnical recommendations.
  • Perform on-site inspections of construction elements such as foundations and retaining walls to ensure adherence to design recommendations and plans.
  • Participate in team-building activities and training opportunities to enhance skills in geotechnical engineering, project management, and consulting.


Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or geological engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with coursework in geotechnical engineering (required).
  • Master’s degree in geotechnical engineering (preferred).
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or eligibility to obtain it within six months (preferred).


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, or a combination of a master’s degree and professional experience (required).
  • Experience in geotechnical engineering with progressively greater responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience with subsurface exploration, including drilling, test pits, geophysical methods, and monitoring systems such as inclinometers and groundwater transducers.
  • Knowledge or training in foundation design, slope stability, and seismic analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency with geotechnical analysis software for data processing, slope stability assessments, foundation design, and seismic evaluations.
  • Capability to draft designs in AutoCAD, including retaining walls, levees, embankments, and slope stabilization structures.
  • Field experience managing geotechnical aspects of construction projects.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders such as clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and remote locations with provided safety equipment and training.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for work-related travel (required).
