Position Overview
As an Inside Industrial Sales/Customer Service Representative, you will assess needs, produce quotes and proposals, prepare contracts and ensure customer satisfaction. To help ensure success you must keep up to date on products and equipment, through regular communication with vendors and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Duties
- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
- Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
- Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications
- Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures of the company
- Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns
- Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items
- Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
- Develop meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust and loyalty
- Actively participate in shipping, receiving and inventory processes
- Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
- Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples
- Capturing of accurate and complete information in Company software
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the distribution team
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors

Other Requirements
- Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal background check
- Be able to provide valid documentation to provide proof of citizenship in accordance with I-9 document
- Display a professional and courteous attitude
- Report to work at the designated start time/maintain a strong attendance record
- Willing to travel to various work sites or training as required
- Willing to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures and comply with the Companys “Stop Work” policy
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designation operations and production areas as directed
- Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and Supervisor with other duties as required
Education and Experience
- Associate degree (Preferred)
- Customer Service 2 years (required)
- Minimum of two years of successful selling experience, emphasis on Industrial/commercial sales preferred
- Must be persistent, energetic, and entrepreneurial
- PC proficiency
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Frequent use of hands to handle, feel, or operate objects, such as a keyboard or mouse
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop occasionally
- May occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus while working on computer, navigating warehouse, etc.
- Must have ability to hear and speak to interact with customers, coworkers, etc. on the telephone or by video conference

Pay Range
$21.00 -$24.00 per hour depending on experience.
