Job Title: Financial Controller
Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
The Financial Controller will oversee all daily accounting functions and provide hands-on execution of general ledger accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, HR/payroll, and evaluation of accounting and internal control systems. This role ensures that company accounting procedures adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and supports the financial health and compliance of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
- Conduct regular reviews and analyses of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Perform various month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger analyses.
- Prepare cash-flow reports, project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and oversee daily cash management.
- Assist CPA in the preparation of income tax returns.
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts, monitoring financial performance on a monthly basis.
- Oversee inventory control processes.
- Supervise client billing procedures.
- Reconcile all bank statements.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns.
- Evaluate, implement, and streamline financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Review client contracts for financial compliance and risk assessment.
- Administer HR benefits, process semi-monthly payroll, and oversee employee onboarding.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, inventory, and cost control principles, including GAAP.
- Proficiency in automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
- Familiarity with federal and state financial regulations.
- Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports, statements, and projections.
- Effective in dynamic and evolving business environments.
- Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
