A prestigious private school in Los Altos is seeking an Interim Director of Communications & Marketing, to lead the school’s internal and external communication strategies, enhancing its reputation and ensuring clear, consistent, and engaging messaging across all platforms.
This is a temporary position (4-6 months) to support during a leave of absence, with the potential for a permanent role for a candidate with strong Marketing and Communication skills. Pay is $45-50/hr.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Marketing Leadership:
Partner with the Director of Communications and Marketing from April or May through June to gain a comprehensive understanding of ongoing projects and processes.
Take the lead on marketing-related efforts such as managing social media and website updates.
During the interim period, focus on maintaining existing marketing strategies rather than introducing new initiatives, ensuring consistency and stability within the department.
Brand Management and Content Oversight:
Uphold and enhance the school’s brand identity through consistent, high-quality marketing materials.
Direct the creation of visually appealing and mission-aligned content for internal and external audiences.
Manage the school’s online presence, ensuring the website, social media, and other channels effectively reflect the school’s strengths and values.
Team and Crisis Communication Leadership:
Lead the Communications team, ensuring timely delivery of projects and alignment with the school’s goals.
Guide the development and execution of crisis communication strategies as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
5 years of experience in communications, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
Strong writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
Expertise in digital marketing, social media management, and website content development.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
Experience with crisis communication and media relations.
Proficiency in graphic design, photography, and video production is a plus.
Familiarity with communications software, content management systems, and email marketing tools.
Salary : $40 - $50
