Now hiring for a Payroll Assistant for our client in the construction industry.
Location: Berkley, CA- on site
Employment Type: Temp-to-perm
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly Rate: ~$38 an hour
Role:
- Accounting Specialist for the Payroll Department that does weekly Union payroll.
- Prepare State and Federal payroll tax forms.
- Responsible for all Payroll Audits including Union, Workers' Compensation, OCIP, etc.
- Reconcile all GL accounts related to Payroll.
- Maintain personnel and equipment records in miscellaneous programs.
- Prepare monthly retirement report for deposit.
- Prepare Federal and State Fuel tax returns.
- Maintain Salary and Bonus worksheet.
- Cross training and back-up responsibilities of other payroll resources.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred. Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Knowledge of payroll, garnishments, and benefits distribution.
- Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and high level of accuracy required.
- Ability to effectively work in a high-volume environment under pressure with multiple tasks and strict deadlines.
Salary : $35 - $39
