Summary :
The Licensed Civil Engineer in our client's Wastewater Department will lead and manage the Wastewater team, overseeing complex engineering tasks, including the design and management of wastewater systems. This role involves creating detailed engineering drawings, performing hydrology and hydraulic calculations, and providing field inspection services. The position will also be responsible for client communication, project coordination, and strategic planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead and guide the team in performing complex drafting assignments.Create detailed engineering drawings for wastewater projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.Perform hydrology calculations and hydraulic evaluations for proposed drainage and wastewater features for permit submissions.Discuss potential new projects with prospective clients, draft professional service agreements, and coordinate with project design team members including clients, architects, contractors, and other engineers.Conduct on-site evaluations, construction observations, inspections, and project site reviews to ensure general conformance with approved plans.Address plan check comments, respond to project-related inquiries, and manage client, consultant, and contractor communications.Conduct preliminary soils exploration, site evaluations, percolation testing, groundwater testing, and existing septic system evaluations.Develop Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (OWTS) design and permit documents.Ensure compliance with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements through proper design and implementation practices.Supervise the wastewater team’s technical staff, participate in quarterly production reviews, and manage strategic planning and consultation efforts.Schedule and perform field inspections, maintain inspection activity logs, and ensure outstanding client service.Required Skills and Abilities :
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California, or Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certified.Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health.1 year of relevant job experience.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and other relevant engineering software.Strong application of engineering principles, critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, consultants, and project team members.Ability to work well in a team environment, efficiently assign duties, and be a proactive team player.Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting individual.Work Environment :
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances.Fieldwork involves major labor-intensive perc testing and profiling, occasionally exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, road hazards, vibration, mechanical and / or electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes.Fieldwork is sometimes performed in a physical environment with steep, uneven, rocky terrain covered with thick vegetation.Employees may occasionally interact with frustrated clients, neighbors, or public agencies.
Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
