As the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
- Use your excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills to engage your technicians, maintain good morale among the team, and keep customers happy.
- Plan and monitor roadmaps that help the maintenance department achieve its objectives (while aligning with the organization’s strategic goals).
- Ensure implementation of organization policies and procedures.
- Schedule, assign, direct work, and conduct performance appraisals of all technicians.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs to increase the efficiency of technicians, maximize revenue, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Prioritize all health and safety regulations to OSHA standards.
- Leverage CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) for preventive maintenance tasks and document instructions and procedures for the preventative maintenance of shop.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment for employees and visitors.
- Manage department expenditures within approved budget.
· Conduct and monitor routine inspections and maintenance of company equipment.
· Negotiate and monitor work from outside vendors to ensure completion in a timely manner.
· Ensure the department is following Department of Transportation standards.
· Assist in the hiring process of all technicians and define their job functions.
· Report to department heads, and coordinate with technicians to make sure all maintenance processes are on track.
· Manage the day-to-day function(s) of all shop employees.
· Participate in training, scheduling, and performance management decisions.
· Review work orders, assign tasks to employees, verify audit the quality of work performed.
· Coach technicians on techniques and procedures.
· Maintains trucks, reefer trailers, tankers, pneumatic, live haul, and end dump trailers.
· Schedules work based on routine preventive maintenance inspections.
· Obtains parts necessary to complete repairs within assigned limits.
· Inspects trucks and tools.
· Authorize maintenance service call repairs and towing charges.
· Ensure shop employees follow all safety policies and procedures.
· Other tasks as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
· Class A CDL
· A set of tools
· High school diploma or GED diploma
· Ten years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Truck and trailer fleet maintenance experience (Trucks, Tankers, Reefers, Pneumatics)
· A thorough knowledge of refrigeration systems
· A thorough knowledge of On-Board Computer systems
· An overall knowledge of shop maintenance
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Strong computer skills
· Strong customer service skills
· Ability to work under pressure
· Be well organized
· Experience in Transportation Management Systems
· Willingness to travel occasionally
· High degree of diligence
Work Environment: The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor will operate in an outside, shop, office setting. This role routinely uses standard mechanic shop equipment.
Physical Demands: The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time. It may also require walking primarily on a level surface or climbing, as well as reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting 20 to 50 lbs. at least once a day.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and typical hours of work are Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime and weekends may be necessary, and you must be available after hours in the event of inclement weather.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
