What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemist 1 position at Certified Laboratories Inc?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop methods for analytical tests, equipment, chemical analyses, procedures meeting established standards and industry requirements.
- Analyze test samples utilizing appropriate test methods.
- May assist in overseeing work conducted by Lab technician or assistants.
- May assist in troubleshooting out of specification test results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge:
- Must have a BS in chemistry or equivalent.
- Experience performing analytical or chemical testing on pharmaceutical, cosmetic, nutritional, raw materials, water samples, bulk samples & finished products.
- Knowledge of current CTFA/PCPC, AOAC and other industry standard methods and procedures.
- Must be familiar with Agilent HPLC, chemstation, LC, GC-FID/MS, TLC, HP-TLC, Spectrophotometer, Titration, pH, conductivity and other chemical equipment, techniques and programs required for pharmaceutical, nutritional and cosmetic product assays/tests.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in an analytical laboratory. 3 years of experience is preferred.
- Computer literate. Be able to work with Microsoft programs such as word and excel, ability to utilize search engines, and create spreadsheets, etc.

- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
- Able to adapt to changes to improve company process.
Managerial Responsibility:
- May assist in overseeing work conducted by Lab technician or assistants.
