JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:
Certified Power, Inc. is a leader in the engineering, manufacturing and distribution of hydraulic systems and controls for the mobile and industrial OEM markets. The Human Resources Generalist will own HR responsibilities for a division(s) and/or function(s), including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave, performance management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and practices, in addition to state and federal laws. They contribute to a positive working culture, build strong relationships, and live out the values of integrity, collaboration, and accountability. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources with a strong dotted line to the assigned Division President(s) and/or Functional Leader(s).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs activities required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, engagement, and culture; employee communications; training and development.
- Practices high-performance culture behaviors in the support of associates, managers, and HR team.
- Meets one-on-one with business leaders regularly; proactively helps managers support employee development, performance, engagement, and high-performance culture.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee rewards and recognition programs.
- Supports recruiting, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with managers and Talent Acquisition Specialist to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments as established by policies and programs.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
- Participates and supports employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Collaborates with HR peers to create efficiencies across the organization.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for extended period of time. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Office hours average 40 per week.
- Work typically performed in an indoor office setting.
- Standard business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and/or as aligned with manager and site needs.
- Remote work arrangements applicable as approved by manager.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Must have prior experience in manufacturing environment. Experienced with multi-state/multiple entities is a plus.
- 2-4 years of Human Resources experience required.
- 25% travel to designated sites.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification and/or SPHR/PHR Certification preferred.
